DIY Brown Sugar Lip Scrub

In all my lipstick experimentation I’ve noticed my lips aren’t quite as smooth as they could be so this afternoon I whipped up a quick lip scrub. It’s super easy and contains only 3 ingredients (but you could make it with just 2!)

What you’ll need:

  • Brown sugar or castor sugar
  • Coconut oil
  • Vanilla essence or extract
  • A small bowl
  • A spoon or something to mix it with
  • A clean jar or container

Ok, start by putting some coconut oil in the bowl, how much you use will depend on the size of your container. You don’t need much of this scrub so a tablespoon or 2 is plenty. Next add about an equal amount of sugar (I prefer brown, castor feels a little too rough to me but see what works for you.) Mix it up and see how the consistency is. You want it to be clumping together but not too dry, rub a little on your lips and see how it feels (I like mine runnier so use more oil than sugar). When you’re happy with the consistency you can add a few drops of vanilla if you like but it’s just for smell and flavour so you can leave it out. Then use the spoon and put it all in your jar and you’re done. I keep mine in the fridge so not sure if it will spoil if left out. Be warned though, this lip scrub is delicious!
